Exactly A Year Ago

I said sometime ago I would share my story and although I don't know where to start I figured this is as good a place as any. Jacob and I had wanted to start a family for awhile and after a long time of trying, we decided to get some tests done. Long story short, (too long for this post, may post more later) we were told we weren't going to be able to ever conceive naturally. So after some counsel and A LOT of prayer, we pursued a fertility doctor in Indy.

He talked to us about In Vitro Fertilization or IVF and after much more prayer we pursured this option. Trying to start a family is such a emotional roller coaster from month to month and to deal with all the stress I started writing letters to my unborn, yet to be conceived child. I'll share with you my entry from March 30, 2008

Dear precious child,
After a short nite, we got up at six this am to head up to Indy. My procedure was scheduled for 9:15. Mommy and Daddy prayed very hard and we are so grateful to have made it this far. Dr. Henry came and talked to us before and answered all of our questions. He's been just an awesome Christian Dr. We've been so blessed. I'm so excited and can't wait to meet you, and hold you and kiss you and tell you how loved you are. Until then....

I hesistate to share this with the whole world, but I want everyone to know God does answer prayer and if I can help or be an encouragement to anyone then it was all worth it and I wouldn't change a thing we went through.

Infertility is such a hard struggle that so many couples face alone and it doesn't have to be that way, I was soooo blessed to have known other couples going thru some of the same stuff we did and I couldn't have done it without the Lord and them.

So, who would have thought a year later I would be writing this while holding my precious baby daughter. The Lord is so good, he's so good to me. :)
